Kate Dodd received her BFA from Pratt Institute and her MFA from Columbia University. In addition to environmental design, community collaborations with educational institutions, and public art, Kate Dodd create site specific artworks in traditional and non-traditional exhibition sites, guiding visitors through their everyday surroundings using unconventional means. Her installations not only mark, but also interact with their host site, creating a heightened sensory experience for the viewer/occupant while reexamining the institutional and conventional aspects of the built environment in an organic manner.

Kate has two daughters who were 17 and 21at the time of the interview. She lives in South Orange, NJ and teaches Art at Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ.
