Francesca Azzara worked as a children’s wear designer before going back to school to get her BFA when her son was young. Azarra has exhibited extensively through out the tri-state area and received numerous awards and has been sited in many publications including the New York Times and the Newark Star Ledger. She teaches encaustic workshops at the Newark Museum and the Arts Guild of Rahway and does demonstrations on encaustic techniques to art groups through out New Jersey.

Francesca lives in Westfield, NJ with her husband and works as a realtor while maintaining an active art practice from her attic studio. Their son was 28 at the time of her interview.
